Litigation practice in India has always been restricted to individual focused office setups since decades. Clients often had to look for a number of different lawyers and other professionals for their legal work. It also required companies to dedicate fund and human resources to in-house legal mangers to deal with various lawyers at different places. They had to consult friends, relatives and contacts to find sector specialized lawyers for their help.

This was just opposite of west where established law firms handled all legal issues, from management to execution, under a same roof. With advancing technology and the globalization impact, last few decades showed a significant transformation in traditional litigation in India, where most private lawyers aspired to work together to facilitate client’s varied legal problems at a single place.

Inspired by the global change in legal profession, Surendra established Chandrawat & Partners Law Firm in 2008 for the purpose of practicing law, providing domestic clients a single platform for all legal solutions and plan for their future. From its inception the firm had a culture of client service and professionalism based on positive mutual respect, trust, acceptance and shared values. With a surge in the firm’s reputation and caseload, led the firm hiring several established associates in the profession.

Having expanded its service offerings during the past 14 years, the firm now serves as a full service law firm in India to meet the legal demands of local and foreign clients. Over years, the firm has expanded the practice and has built a positive image for its pro-bono works and making a positive difference within the community. The firm has built a large client base of private clients and businesses of every shape and size in a wide variety of industries.

The 2010s saw the firm’s litigation practice expand extensively with offices in Indore, New Delhi and Mumbai making it one of the leading law firms in the country. Clients no longer needed two different firms for the same or different matters as the firm expanded its practice to other niche areas such as foreign investment, taxation, intellectual property etc.

As the demand from domestic clients grew to handle their cross border legal issues, the firm expanded itself to international borders with its first foreign office in Hong Kong under the leadership of Surendra Singh Chandrawat. The firm’s cultural strategy attracted the highly ranked advocates, who were already perceived as leaders in their community. A number of such trained and experienced individuals joined the firm to value working together and share experience and clients for the benefit of all involved.

As a major leap towards expanding our global network, the firm has explored its global network to China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, UAE, South Korea and other jurisdictions. The firm stands proud and honored to be able to contribute to client’s success and growth across the Asia Pacific and around the world.

The firm has developed to meet the new legal challenges. Since the formation of the firm, ongoing effort has been made by Surendra and his team to pursue the goal of developing a network of expert lawyers, specialized in different practice areas, to provide a unique combination of skills and expertise to help clients resolve their most complex legal issues.
